About the blog and the writer

The hanging, unspoken word.
The laughter from a corner table.
The mourning cry from a winter grave.
The tickling of leaves on a wooded trail.
The stroke of a pen from a seat of power.

“A tilting of air” is a blog about echoes and ripples of being human, captured in creative writing – mainly poetry, posts about creative writing, or sometimes…just reflections of what’s on my mind.

So…who am I?
Husband. Father. Son. Brother. Friend. Employee. Sinner. Saved.

I believe in the Triune God from eternity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and that, in His good design, we were created with a clear and perfect form and function. This went sideways with a slither, a bite, and a smacking of lips. I’m grateful for Christ’s sacrifice on the cross – that all who believe are forgiven and saved regardless of our fumbles.

For fun – besides writing – I like to hang out with my wife, children and friends, and participate in things that are about artistic expression or tell a story of the human condition (theatre, museums, historical monuments, read, watch movies, travel) and putz around in nature, my lawn, and the kitchen.

And, I’m an educator-turned-HR professional who finds joy in contributing to strategies that elevate the employee experience – belonging, support, and growth to be inspired to do amazing things – personally and professionally – for themselves and their loved ones.
